Color
of Love
Watercolor
creates too much pastel,
for those that
fancy BOLD BRIGHT colors.
Oil for me,
a little PINK,
FAGGOT!
Red is the color
of my heart.
Red is the color
of my blood.
QUICK,
let's get the
sponge!
The wheels turn.
Black is the color
of my longer lasting fear,
later painted
over in pastel.
The tears cause
the pastel to run.
The black fades
to gray.
QUICK,
let's get the
colors!
Yellow,
in oil,
paints a BRIGHT
SUNNY DAY!
The gray begins
to disappear,
and the painter
stands PROUDLY at the exhibit,
where he meets
another artist.
Together they
paint in oil,
beautiful shades
of orange, purple and HOT PINK.
They laugh at
the word FAGGOT,
and NIGGER,
and at the "good
hearts" of the moral majority who judged them.
They render the
people who taught them fear powerless, now!
Together they
paint,
and contemplate
mixing all the colors up,
just for fun.
My brush dips
into red.
You splatter blue.
Quick,
let's get the
sponge!
The wheels turn.
Black is no longer
the color of my fear.
